"I travelled to and lived in Warsaw Poland, in 1986, for six months. I was interested in the work of Wladyslaw Hasior, the Polish textile artists and the Polish performance art scene. The use of particular materials and props in order to enhance social or political comment has stayed with my work. 

I am fascinated by the mechanics of nature, the dualities, the constant changes, the seeming cruelty and human intervention in all of this."
